Ottawa SuperEX: Celebrating 122 Years of History

This exhibition will honour the history of the Central Canada Exhibition and the site at Lansdowne Park. There will be museum exhibits from the various military regiments who were created, mustered, and trained at the park.  Included in this will be life-sized dioramas detailing the living conditions of those stationed at the park in WWII including living quarters and a vehicle.  There will also be a diorama showing (former park residents) Ottawa’s Highland Camerons landing on D-Day.  City of Ottawa Archives will be providing a 200sq. ft. model of the Aberdeen Pavilion as well as a comprehensive exhibit on the history of the Ex, and exhibits on the legacies of hockey and football.  The North American Carnival Museum Archives will be presenting an exhibit on carnival history including a number of artifacts, and 'Carnival Diablo's “World of Wonders” traveling sideshow museum will be bringing its “old-time” trailer filled with classic sideshow objects and atmosphere as seen in the classic side shows of the 1920’s.
